I could colour you complete
Lift you right up off your feet
Turn a corner in the night
Walk on to the morning light
Come on wont you dry your eyes
How can I make you realise?
I am a stone upon the shore
You are a pearl on the ocean floor
Oh wont you cover me tonight?
Wont you cover me?
And we’ll go walking, over land, across the shore
With your feelings, overboard and self assured
Too many people, “we’re ok, mine today”
And you push me down
On another cracked up night
I see you shaking in the light
Everyone is going home
And my heart just turns to stone
Oh wont you cover me tonight?
Wont you cover me?
And we’ll go walking, over land, across the shore
With your feelings, overboard and self assured
Too many people, “we’re ok, mine today”
And you push me down
You push me down

Kempes - Bugsy Star Pink

No time for goodbye, it’s the summer
And heavens in the midnight air
You’re way too high, it’s a killer
But I just want to be up there
Cos you walk and you smile
Lay your head back a while
Then disappear
You kill and you thrill
you can and you will
So reappear
You’re an illusion stalking the night
Its getting late in the year
The seasons set for turning now
I can only wait, it’s so near
The sun it sets still burning now
Cos you boss and you bawl
You curse and you crawl
Right over me
You toss and you turn
You break and you burn
For all to see
You’re an illusion covered in light
Cos you walk and you smile
Lay your head back a while
Then disappear
You kill and you thrill
you can and you will
So reappear
You’re an illusion coming alive

From the look in your eyes
You don’t want to be there
With a multi coloured crack up for a prize
No matter how hard I try
Everything I see there
Is a phony pharmaceutical disguise
I’ll catch you if I can
When will you understand
I’ll catch you if I can
From the look in your eyes
You wont want to be there
When the rush of raw adrenalin goes dry
No matter how hard I try
Everything I see there
Is a phony pharmaceutical disguise
I’ll catch you if I can
When will you understand
I’ll catch you if I can

I laid on the floor and I covered my eyes
I could not go on to see your demise
You shook off your head, you shook off your disguise
and left nothing at all, left nothing
My mind was alive and the feeling was right
The wine and the drive of the hot summer night
but this vision in sight was no trick of the light
it was you and your lot, dying
Daylight is coming
Night time is running
You're in the atmosphere, alone
I walked home alone with a bag of the best
my heart was a stone and my head was a mess
so I left you cursing the rest
of the hippy clan, frying
Daylight is coming
Night time is running
I'm in the atmosphere, alone

Time Spectre
02:51
|
|||
morning I got up for school
as always was the golden rule
half eight to be on my stool
and ready for to learn
running like a maniac
the spectre close upon my back
knew that I'd be on the rack
and so I didn't turn
but I was late, very very late
morning I got up for work
and climbed into my silver Merc
another little company perk
they say I'm doing fine
scheduled in at nine today
to talk about a rise in pay
nothing that I had to say
just make it there in time
but I was late, very very late
So now I'm cleaning lavatories
unmoved by the indignities
the kids all christened me with ease
'that filthy dirt mop scum'
Heard the knock upon my door
'those kids have messed the toilet floor'
the mayor is on his city tour
they needed me to come
but I came late, very very late
drove my car into a wall
so now I'm in the hospital
medic after medical
they say I will be fine
morphine made me happily
lose all my blood quite rapidly
surgeon called for surgery
he'd operate at nine
but he came late, very very late
morning I woke up to find
my prison cell was my own mind
the nurses all were very kind
but now we've reached the end

The angel and the clown
04:29
|
|||
as we were walking out we passed an old hotel
you fixed me up there then you fixed yourself as well
fixed yourself right back down into hell
woke up on Monday and I cursed the morning light
watching you sleeping still enrapt in Sunday night
what a bloody messed up Sunday night
but we've got time and we've got our eyes
and we've got our lives
but it doesn't pay the rent
we've got days and we know the ways
and we're going to stay
until every day's been spent
every day's been spent
Hey we've got to go now cos it's past the morning bell
time is moving on and we've no time to dwell
wish that I could stop the morning hell
the cold ice morning crept inside me like a chill
my three minute warning just a ghost upon a hill
seems it's going to happen to me still
but we've got time and we've got our eyes
and we've got our lives
but it doesn't pay the rent
we've got days and we know the ways
and we're going to stay
until every day's been spent
every day's been spent
lets get on a train and say goodbye to this old town
call on a doctor who can put the old place down
bury the old place deep inside the ground
we came to a turning and you went your separate way
leaving me burning with a memory of the way
things were oh so different than today
when we had time and we had our eyes
and we had our lives
but it never paid the rent
we had days and we knew the ways
and we tried to stay
but now every day's been spent
every day's been spent

Calico morning
sun in my eyes
await for the warning
of troubles disguise
I'm covered in cold flames
smoke in the air
await for the warm day
a second to share

Mirror
03:03
|
|||
so look in the mirror
reflecting your disguise
painting a picture
of nothing inside
mirror mirrors hope
a sunny ashen rope
you're looking for time, I know
so take it upon yourself
to gather up my mail
and find it within yourself
to figure and not fail
mirror mirrors goodbye
a sunny summer sky
you're looking for time that's why
there's nothing here now
just canopies and rain
your ray of sunlight
has disappeared again
mirror mirrors a sign
shining where you once shined
if only I'd found time
you'd be looking for me
and mine
